Our gift to you just for being here:
Meet the hurst family!
As a family of 6, we have 2 boys and 2 girls and 10 years between our oldest and youngest kids. We live in West Virginia and love creating educational family adventures near and far from our “country roads”. We have a passion for giving back and are excited to use this blog to do just that. Whenever possible, Castles and Carpools uses our voice to promote awareness about travel related charities and organizations helping families across the world. Join us to plan great family learning adventures and to help us make the world we travel in a little better than we found it.
Choose Your Destination:
learning activities
Learning through family travel adventures can happen around the corner or around the globe, on a day trip or a long vacation. Whether you’re a full-time roadschooling family or planning your one week a year family trip, I believe there’s a little worldschooler in every family who travels. These learning activities and resources will help you learn and travel well.
family vacation ideas
We travel with a mindset that every trip should feel like a special adventure. Expanding your kids’ horizons and learning through travel can create the best memories. And being able to talk to a mom who has been to your vacation destination can be invaluable. So grab a cup of coffee (or a glass of wine) and fuel your wanderlust with a little travel inspiration from our family to yours.
traveling with kids
Traveling with a family in tow can be fun... but a lot of work. Creating those great family travel adventures sometimes requires some help. I love to share the resorts we can’t wait to visit again, our favorite things to do, and the restaurants we went home talking about. Explore and learn with us for tips on traveling with kids from my family to yours.
